Family Tree – A Minimalist Haven in Babameta
Located in the peaceful surroundings of Babameta, Vijayanagaram, the Family Tree project is a beautiful 6,000-square-foot villa that perfectly balances modern design with simplicity. Designed for a family home, this four-bedroom villa is centered around the client’s desire for minimalism, natural lighting, and cross-ventilation, making it a serene and comfortable living space for his parents.
The project began with the client seeking a fresh approach to a design plan initially created by someone else, which didn’t quite meet his expectations. After reviewing our design, the client was impressed by our approach, and we were entrusted with reimagining both the architectural layout and the interior styling.
One of the key challenges of this project was the client’s lack of experience with architecture and interior design, which meant that we had to guide him through every step, from the broadest design elements to the smallest details. Despite the pressure, we were able to create a design that not only adhered to the client’s needs but also reflected a level of aesthetic sophistication that would be sustainable in the long run.
The villa’s design revolves around a key feature—a double-height space that connects the heart of the home. With a focus on maximizing natural light and ventilation, the home is designed to ensure every room is bathed in sunlight, creating a warm, welcoming atmosphere. Unlike the client’s previous home, which lacked proper ventilation and natural light, Family Tree embodies an open, airy environment that promotes comfort and well-being.
The interior design follows a minimalist approach, with a simple yet refined aesthetic. The client wanted an uncluttered space, with fewer elements that are functional yet elegant. This minimalist design caters to the needs of the client’s parents, who are the primary residents, with their daughter and son living abroad. This focus on simplicity ensures the space feels just right for the family, allowing for relaxation and peace.
Despite the many challenges along the way, including the high pressure of managing all aspects of the project, we are proud of the outcome. The project has not only met the client’s expectations but has also provided our team with invaluable lessons in design, client communication, and project management. The handover of the villa was a rewarding moment, with the client fully satisfied with the final product.
Family Tree is a testament to the power of thoughtful design, combining functionality, simplicity, and natural elements to create a home that’s both timeless and comforting.
