The Red Door is a thoughtfully curated contemporary farmhouse tucked away in the tranquil surroundings of Chevalla, Hyderabad. Designed for a close friend and client, this project was envisioned not just as a retreat, but as a dynamic commercial property — a space where the vibrancy of Hyderabad’s youth meets the serenity of nature.

With the increasing demand for weekend getaways and private event venues, the client saw an opportunity to offer something truly experiential — a modern farmhouse that could be rented out for casual hangouts, intimate celebrations, wellness retreats, or even small wedding functions. The brief was clear: create a space that is stylish yet grounded, luxurious yet welcoming.

Spread across 10 guntas of land, the design integrates essential functional elements such as a dedicated watchman’s room, ample car parking, a tot lot for kids, and beautifully landscaped gardens that serve as the heart of the outdoor experience. The expansive garden not only offers a lush green setting but also acts as a flexible event space, ideal for open-air gatherings.

The built structure features a spacious 3BHK layout, with a large central hall crafted for lounging and entertaining. The hall doubles as a sleepover space when needed, accommodating larger groups comfortably. Each of the three bedrooms is designed with privacy and comfort in mind. Additional lifestyle features — such as a swimming pool and an outdoor projector screen — elevate the farmhouse experience, allowing guests to unwind in style, whether it’s a movie night by the pool or a quiet evening under the stars.

The design language follows a sleek and elegant contemporary style. We worked with a restrained color palette of greys, blacks, and whites, anchoring the composition with a single, striking accent — red. This pop of bold color finds its most dramatic expression in the main entrance: a 10-foot tall tomato-red door that not only commands attention but also sets the tone for the entire property. Symbolic of energy, warmth, and welcome, this door inspired the project’s name — The Red Door.

From its layout to its finishes, every detail of this project reflects a balance of functionality and flair. The Red Door is more than just a farmhouse — it’s a space designed for memories, laughter, and modern living in the lap of nature.
